On June 19, Zhejiang Daily featured a special report titled From "Pioneering" to "Leading": ZJCM's Tower Erection System Wins Gold at International Invention Exhibition, highlighting that the Crawler-Type Lightweight Tower Erection System developed by Zhejiang Construction Engineering Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (ZJCM) was awarded the Gold Medal at the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

Recently, at the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, the Crawler-Type Lightweight Tower Erection System-jointly developed by Zhejiang Construction Engineering Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (ZJCM, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group), State Grid Hubei Electric Power Co., Ltd., and Jingzhou Jingli Engineering Design & Consulting Co., Ltd.-won the Gold Medal. The system stood out among over 1,000 inventions from more than 40 countries worldwide for its originality, practicality, and technological sophistication. This achievement follows the Gold Medal won by the Group's Engineering Research Institute at the 49th edition of the exhibition, once again showcasing ZJCM's innovative strength on the global stage.

  • Designed for erecting small transmission towers, the system integrates a crawler chassis with an upper erection device, allowing for transport as a complete unit. With a travel width of only 1.28 meters, it easily passes through narrow construction paths, solving the "last-mile" transportation challenge. Moreover, by integrating intelligent control and hydraulic transmission technologies, the system offers advantages such as high mobility, safety, reliability, intelligence, and power sharing. It effectively fills the equipment gap for erecting towers in 110–220 kV transmission line projects.

Global Recognition Demonstrates Core Competence in Power Machinery

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is one of the world's most influential invention fairs. The award-winning system is the result of ZJCM's technical team's dedicated efforts to overcome industry challenges such as difficult relocation and time-consuming assembly/disassembly of traditional tower erection equipment. "Traditional equipment requires about five hours for assembly or disassembly. Our goal was to reduce this to 30 minutes," explained the project lead. "To achieve this, we innovatively designed a single-cylinder linkage tilting and climbing frame structure, combined with remote sensing technology for symmetrical hoisting of tower materials. This reduces safety risks from Levels 2–3 to Level 4, truly enabling rapid assembly, disassembly, and immediate deployment." The equipment has passed type tests conducted by the China Electric Power Research Institute, obtained 4 invention patents and 1 utility model patent, and has been certified by the China Electricity Council as reaching internationally advanced technological levels. Currently, the product has been successfully deployed in multiple grid projects across different regions, receiving widespread acclaim. It will also be showcased at the "Advanced Tools" equipment exhibition organized by the State Grid Infrastructure Department.
